The Semester is ALMOST Over!!

ALL DONE (The stats assignment... not the semester)!! Thanks for the help guys!!! :)

It's that time again!!! (Time to help Becky out withanother fun survey for her stupid stats class!!) uhh... I kinda waited until the last minute for this one, so if you could fill this out tonight, that would be great! I'm making my students take the survey tonight... but chances of them all showing up to class are slim, so I still need your help!

If you're like me and don't know what most of these colors look like, you can look them up on Wikipedia.org. It'll be fun! I promise. Kinda. ;)

THANKS!!!
Becky

Crazy Editor

I just found out that the paper that I wrote last semester with Patricia is going to be published by The American Journal of Family Therapy!!! I'm SO excited! This is the first paper that we wrote in grad school, and some editor and a few crazy reviewers actually decided that it was worth publishing so other people can read what we wrote!

I'm in shock.

And today brought...

A SNOW DAY!!!

Classes were canceled today! That means I don't have to sit in class for 5 1/2 hours straight like I normally do on Wednesdays... and I don't have to teach!! It's funny how teachers are just as excited about snow days as are their students.

I guess the snow isn't really so bad after all!

'Driving' in the SNOW

So this morning I wake up to one of my classmates calling to tell me the website that I should be checking to see if classes are be canceled. I look out my bedroom window before getting out of bed to find a blanket of snow covering the ground. I grudgingly get out of bed, hoping to find promising results from that website before I actually need to leave my warm apartment. No luck. I make my way out to my car and begin the day's adventure by watching my neighbor struggle to gain control of his TRUCK while turning out of the driveway. I actually make it out on to the street, down the 30, and up Indianapolis Blvd without any problems, so I'm way excited. I'm within just a few blocks of school and I've only started to loose control of my car a few times around turns. I hit a stop light. I stop. I start. No wait... I don't ACTUALLY start. I kinda start. and it takes me almost a full block to gain control of my car. Prodigy comes on the radio and I figure, screw it; I might as well make the best of it. I turn up the volume, pretend like I'm playing a REALLY lifelike video game, and slowly make the rest of my way to campus. I later find out that my friend Missy was driving behind me the majority of the way to school. She says she has my back and we have a good laugh.

After class my client cancels so I get to go home early. I prepare for a rough drive home, but am pleasantly surprised when I don't have any problems. And THEN I get to my apartment. I FREAKING MADE IT ALL THE WAY HOME WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS AND THEN END UP GETTING STUCK IN THE SNOW IN THE PARKINGLOT OF MY APARTMENT COMPLEX!! Apparently I was the first one to get home today, so my rear-wheel drive Mustang convertible had to try to make its way through all of the snow that had piled up during the day while everyone was away at work. Let me tell you... rear-wheel drive is NOT fun in the snow. Seriously... the only other cars that I saw having problems driving today were other Mustangs. So I ended up being able to reverse (which was really exciting; I actually had some control over the direction in which my car was going!) and take another path to my parking spot. During that time I watched as two of my neighbors came home and slowly made their way to their parking spots, front wheels furiously spinning as their cars creeped forward. Meanwhile, my back wheels were furiously spinning and I wasn't going anywhere. When I DID actually move my rear end would just kind of slide to one side as my front end stayed in place. Anyway, I eventually came within sigh of my parking spot... TO FIND SOMEONE PARKED IN IT. Luckily, by the time I actually got there, the guy was leaving. Oooohhhh... I was so frustrated at that point.... I don't even want to know what I would have said if I had the opportunity to talk to him. So then I had to figure out how to park without hitting my neighbors' cars. I figured that I would just have to make the best use of gaining control of my car while driving in reverse, align my car as best I could, and slide into my spot. SUCCESS! So it basically took me about 15 minutes to drive a distance that usually takes me 15 or 20 seconds.

So basically, I'm pretty much an amazing driver. I HAVEN'T HIT ANYTHING YET!!

(Secretely, I kind of like blasting the music and trying to drive in the snow. It's kind of fun trying to gain control of my car. If only it wasn't so dangerous...)

Here's a link to news clip on the driving conditions where I live in Merrillville:

We'll see what tomorrow brings...

Stats Survey

Hey Friends!

I have this silly assignment for my stats class, and I could really use your help! Please answer the following questions as best you can. Please don't leave any questions blank, or I'll probably have to do more stuff with my data analysis than I know how to do! If you don't know an answer, just guess. :) I could use the results as soon as possible (at least by Tuesday), so if you don't mind, then either respond in a comment or send me a message and tell me the answers to these pointless questions!

1. What is your age?

2. What is your gender? Male / Female

3. How tall are you?

4. How much do you weigh?

5. What is your yearly income before taxes?

6. On average, how much money do you spend each month buying clothes for yourself?

7. On average, how much time do you spend each month shopping for clothes for yourself?

8. On average, how much time does it take you to decide what to wear each time you get dressed?

9. How many pairs of shoes do you own, including sandals and slippers?

10. On a scale of 1 to 5, rate the strength with which you agree or disagree with the following statement:

“The way that I dress is an expression of who I am.”

1- Strongly Disagree
2- Disagree
3- Neutral
4- Agree
5- Strongly Agree

You guys are amazing!! Thanks so much for your help! :)
